I met today’s guest, Dr. Gaye Lang, when we were both in the process of launching our respective podcasts and we agreed that our age was no impediment to learning new skills and taking on new challenges.
Dr. Gaye Lang is the president and founder of Workplace Restorative Practices, Inc. Her D.I.E.T strategy of Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Tolerance, reduces the possibility of workplace disputes leading to lawsuits and other unfavorable outcomes.
Dr. Lang earned a doctorate in education research and cultural studies from the University of Houston. She honed her leadership and relationship-building skills while serving as the Secretary Regional Representative for the White House.  She is the author of Colorizing Restorative Justice: Voicing Our Realities, which won the Benjamin Franklin Silver Award, and of Seven: A Sorority’s Story. She hosts the Workplace Diversity podcast, which focuses on (Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Tolerance).  

Our conversation begins with Dr. Lang sharing her story of what shaped you in to the powerful teacher and advocate she is today. We discuss the power of mentorship and her five African-American mentors, all men, but who recognized her ability and guided her career. She passes on her strategies for overcoming challenges and aging well.
